I think the staff at the surgery (Doctors, Nurses and Receptionists) are wonderful and the surgery is always clean to a very high standard. However, I find it extremely difficult to get an appointment. I understand that certain Doctors are popular and appointments get taken for these Doctors but it is even difficult to get an appointment with one of the Doctors I don't usually see in the same week of requesting an appointment. For Doctors I feel comfortable seeing I have at times been unable to get an appointment for 3 weeks or longer. I work out of the area and cannot attend the walk in clinics in the morning and afternoon as I am either travelling to work or not home by the time the clinics finish. There is no system in place for those of us that work and if there is an urgent issue where you may need to see a Doctor as a matter of urgency there is no flexibility. Even sometimes with telephone appointments you still have to wait a week or more especially if you need to speak with a Doctor who is familiar with you as a patient. There have been times where I have had a telephone call from a Doctor I have never seen before and they have advised it would be better to see or speak with the Doctors I normally see as they are the ones who know about ongoing issues. it is becoming increasingly frustrating as at the end of the day this is about patient's health matters. I think a new system needs to be put in place where those who work are able to at least get an appointment during the same week in which they ring the surgery to book one!

Sadly, it has not been easy to get the appointments so that my baby receives the health review/vaccinations in due course. Several of the appointments were rescheduled and one was missed because it had been wrongly secured in the agenda. In addition, I think that it would be preferable if the receptionist could define when the next injection is to take place using a calendar instead of relying on mothers to confirm how many weeks their baby will be. Especially, as I found out today that what matters is that the injection takes place 4 weeks after the previous one.
